Project 2026
Project 2026, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, is a citizen-led initiative organized by The Continental Congress Project, LLC™, a lawfully for-profit, partisan entity. While the LLC may produce partisan commentary and educational content, Project 2026 itself is designed to educate and empower citizens in understanding both representative and direct democratic processes—not to serve the election goals of any party or candidate. The initiative focuses on helping average citizens learn how to participate meaningfully in democracy by exploring both representative government and the 26 states plus Washington, D.C., that provide legally established direct democracy mechanisms—initiatives, referenda, veto referenda, and other citizen-led processes. Through educational programs, civic forums, symbolic resolutions, and collaborative assemblies, participants can learn how to exercise both representative and direct democratic rights lawfully, responsibly, and effectively. Project 2026 emphasizes voluntary civic engagement, educational empowerment, and legal compliance, fostering informed participation that strengthens democratic institutions while promoting a deeper understanding of how citizens can use direct democracy to complement and influence representative governance at state and local levels.
